The Hoya Gardens, located in the historic heart of Almería, are an iconic space that complements the grandeur of the Alcazaba monumental complex. Following their recent renovation, these gardens have not only regained their splendor but now enhance the beauty of Jayrán’s Walls and the iconic San Cristóbal hill.
Their central location, nestled between the city’s two historic hills, has captured the attention of filmmakers for over 70 years. Once an underutilized area, it naturally became the backdrop for historical battles, such as in Cleopatra (1963), or grandiose sets, like in Risen (2016), starring Joseph Fiennes.
